If you hold the button and power it up you reset it to it's defaults. Plotters can be a bit weird.. best thing to do is to configure a machine in your network to an address in the 192.0.0.0/24 range, for instance 192.0.0.193 (subnet mask 255.255.255.0 of course).

Then reset the 300x by taking out the power and holding the button pushed in while you put the power back in, let go after about 5 seconds of power on.

After a minute or 2 (maybe a bit longer) then put in the ethernet cable and telnet to 192.0.0.192 (the default address for a 300x if there is no DHCP server), you will be able to change all the settings.
